The Best Time of Year for a Dance Holiday

13/08/2026

For us, there’s a pretty clear answer: the shoulder seasons.
That means April to June, and then again September to November. These months offer the sweet spot between great weather, fewer crowds, better value and, perhaps best of all, the chance to escape the UK and enjoy a little sunshine when you need it most.
Perfect weather
One of the biggest reasons to travel in the shoulder season is simple: perfect weather.
In many of our favourite dance destinations, April to June and September to November bring warm, pleasant days without the intense heat you can sometimes experience in the height of summer.
That makes it ideal for a dance holiday. You can spend your days exploring, relaxing by the pool or enjoying the local sights, before heading out for an evening of dancing.
And there’s something particularly appealing about leaving the UK behind when the weather is a little grey and unpredictable and arriving somewhere that feels like summer has already started – or is still going strong.
Not too busy
Peak season means peak crowds.
Popular destinations can become much busier during July and August, with packed resorts, busy beaches, fuller restaurants and more people competing for those perfect holiday spots.
Travel during the shoulder season and things tend to feel much more relaxed.
There’s more space to enjoy your destination, a calmer atmosphere and often a more authentic experience of the place you’re visiting. And when you’re on a dance holiday, having a little extra room to breathe – and dance! – is always a bonus.
Lower costs
Another major advantage of travelling outside peak season is lower costs.
Accommodation, flights and other holiday expenses can often be more affordable during the shoulder months, meaning your holiday budget can go further.
That could mean upgrading your hotel, staying a little longer, enjoying more meals out or simply getting more holiday for your money.
Who doesn’t like that?
Escape the UK weather
Of course, one of the biggest attractions of a shoulder-season dance holiday is the opportunity to escape somewhere with better weather than home.
Here in the UK, April, May and June can be beautiful – but they can also be decidedly unpredictable. And September, October and November can bring everything from glorious late-summer sunshine to chilly, wet days.
So why leave it to chance?
Instead, head somewhere warmer, swap the raincoat for your dancing shoes and enjoy some sunshine while you dance the day and night away.
It’s one of the best feelings in the world: leaving the UK in less-than-perfect weather and stepping off the plane somewhere warm, sunny and ready for a holiday.
So, when should you book your dance holiday?
For us, the answer is the shoulder season.
April to June and September to November give you that winning combination of perfect weather, fewer crowds, lower costs and a welcome escape from the unpredictable UK weather.
And that’s exactly why you won’t find any of our package holidays during the peak summer season.
We’d rather take you away when the destinations are at their best – and when you can get the most out of your dance holiday.
Unless, of course, you’re thinking about our ski-jive trips in January or February… ?
Because when there’s dancing involved, we’re not afraid to make an exception!
