Strictly Winner back for Children in Need 2017

10/11/2017

The annual BBCs Children in Need is back again this November, and Strictly Come Dancing is involved once again in helping this charity raises money “to make a real difference to the lives of children all across the UK.” And it was announced earlier this week that Strictly Come Dancing 2016 winner Ore Oduba will be back to perform.

I can’t wait to take the stage again, this time for BBC Children in Need! Strictly ignited a real passion for performing and I haven’t taken my dancing shoes off since. We want to put on a show and get the audience on their feet.” – Ore Oduba interview with RadioTimes

On last year’s Strictly Come Dancing Oduba along with his dance partner, Radio Times columnist Joanne Clifton, wowed audiences with their dance tribute to Gene Kelly’s Singin in the Rain. This time for Children in Need Oduba will be singing, as well as dancing for the first time live

The BBC’s Children in Need is an annual telethon televised on BBC One and Two, that first started in 1980, and since then has raised £800 million. Since its inception, the telethon was hosted annually by well-beloved Terry Wogan. Now hosted by Graham Norton, Children in Need is a prominent charity fundraising event in British culture.

If you just need a reminder of how good a dancer Ore Oduba is, just look at this video of Oduba with Joanne Clifton dancing Singin in the Rain in 2016’s Strictly Come Dancing here.

And while we’re at it, take a view of their Argentine Tango, Jive dance, and Salsa performances.

I don’t know about you, but we’re already excited for November 17th. And doesn’t the performance also just want to make you go and learn those dances?
