Sprawling for 7 miles along the southern Dorset coastline, Bournemouth is one of the largest seaside resorts in Britain, famous for its grand seafront and broad sandy beaches.

It's part Victorian resort, part modern commercial centre and part mass-market tourist holiday park, where day-trippers and holiday makers  rub shoulders with stag and hen parties. Harmony seems to preside amongst Bournemouth's temporary residents though and it’s an atmospheric introduction to the world of the British beach holiday, with plenty  to keep you occupied, including sunbathing, shopping and water sports by day, and a wealth of bars, clubs and shows to explore by night.

Immerse yourself in a revitalising weekend of the ultimate high-energy Just Jhoom! Bollywood and Masala Bhangra fitness party. Your dance holiday includes a daily schedule of Bollywood Fitness and Masala Bhangra lessons with Irem Luqman and George Martini, evening entertainment, time to enjoy the local sights and a night of dancing with a group of like-minded people.

Staying half board in the comfort of the 3* Cliffeside Hotel, which overlooks the sea and has access to a wide range of leisure facilities, you will enjoy at least five hours of high energy Just Jhoom and Masala Bhangra classes, evening entertainment and the opportunity to explore the delights of Bournemouth.

You'll experience a jam-packed weekend schedule of classes including two great Bollywood party nights!

Just Jhoom!
Just Jhoom! Just Dance! is a fusion of Bollywood and Bhangra beats - to get you fit, looking fab and having fun!

Inspired by the glitz and the glamour of Bollywood films, Just Jhoom! is the first and only accredited Bollywood dance-fitness programme in the UK. Bored of the gym? Want something fun and inspiring? Then Just Jhoom! may be just the thing! Using Indian dance moves, Bollywood music and strengthening exercises we’ll make sure you get a really good workout without even realising that you are working out!

Masala Bhangra
The Masala Bhangra Workout® is an exercise dance routine that modernizes the high-energy folk dance of Bhangra by blending traditional Bhangra dance steps and the exhilaration of Bollywood (Hindi film) moves, seen recently in the Oscar-winning film Slumdog Millionaire! This unique dance mixes cardiovascular with fun, and is suitable for participants of all ages and fitness levels. Masala Bhangra® is an ACE and AFAA approved fitness program and devised by Sarina Jain, the "Jane Fonda of India."

All classes will take place within the hotel.

You'll be dancing with some of the UK's best known instructors, all of whom carry the official Just Jhoom or Masala Bhangra Fitness qualification as well as qualifications in Zumba, Burlesque and Salsa and have many years' experience in dance and fitness instruction.

Your teachers and hosts in Bournemouth will be George Martini and Irem Luqman.

George Martini George teaches and hosts on all of our UK dance and fitness breaks and is qualified in Zumba, Aqua Zumba, Zumbatomic, Masala Bhangra and more and runs his own company providing salsa classes for school children. George has always been passionate about Latin dance and fitness and his infectious style has won him many fans in his hometown of Oxford and throughout the UK.

Irem Luqman says: "I have loved to dance for as long as I can remember, however, after university I settled in a job in IT and worked my way up the corporate ladder. But I couldn't keep away from my love of dance so for the last 10 years I have also worked part time, in the evenings, as a Dance and Fitness Instructor. In August 2012 I decided it was now or never and changed my career and my life to follow my dreams and my heart and I haven't looked back once. I am loving every minute of running my own dance and fitness company, BodyMind Dance, teaching all levels of Just Jhoom!, Zumba, PureStretch, Burlesque, and Pole Fitness. I started teaching Just Jhoom! In January 2012 because it ticks all the boxes for me – it's such a fun and energising way of getting fit, the music will move you and will leave you smiling and feeling positive!"

You'll be spoilt for choice with Bournemouth's variety of restaurants, from the traditional fish and chip stands on the promenade,  along with popular pasta and pizza chains and top-end dining experiences.

We offer you a variety of optional extras to enrich your experience and add some local colour.  There are no optional extras currently available for this trip.

You'll receive a course itinerary with information on the location of classes and your teachers on arrival, along with information on the local sights, recommended restaurants and other helpful tips to ensure you get the very best Bournemouth has to offer.

Things to do in Bournemouth

2. Whatever the season, enjoy an expert-guided walk through Bournemouth's many parks and gardens. Learn about flowers, insects, birds and animals that inhabit the diverse countryside. For information contact the Tourist Information Centre on 0845 051 1700.

3. Get in the water! The sea off Bournemouth beach is perfect for early morning swimming, surf lessons and body boarding. There are plenty of watersports to choose from in Bournemouth and neighbouring Poole.

4.  Enjoy high tea; the ultimate British tradition. Take tea, sandwiches and cake at one of the many hotels, cafes and restaurants, after your feet need a break from shopping in the many boutiques and department stores.

5. Feeling sporty? Have a game of tennis on theall weather outdoor courts set in the Bournemouth Upper Gardens. Or why not try your hand at bowling, hire some bikes or enjoy a round of golf.

Bournemouth has a variety of day and night time entertainment to suit all ages, with a choice of pubs, bars and restaurants and more along the seafront. It's also home to some great local nightclubs for those wishing to dance late into the night!

Bollywood Fitness and Masala Bhangra offer something for everyone; there is no "Beginner" or "Advanced" level and everyone can benefit from and enjoy both workouts' fast-paced, fun styles and funky music. We offer a full schedule of classes (at least five hours over the weekend) and you can dip in and out of as many as you please.

Both dance-fitness workouts are an extremely sociable experience and we can guarantee that you will return from this weekend with new friends and new moves!

Although transport to the venue is not included in your holiday price, we're more than happy to advise on the best way for you to reach the Hotel.

Bournemouth is fairly easy to get to as it's centrally located on the south coast and serviced by public transport, good road links, an international airport and nearby ports.

Travel by Bus or Coach: Plenty of coach providers offer great prices on traveling to and from Bournemouth. All coaches arrive in the heart of Bournemouth, right next to the train station where taxis and local buses wait to take you to your hotel, the town centre or seafront. Try Wilts & Dorset buses to get you around, or Streamline Warren taxis or United Taxis.

Travel by Train: Bournemouth is well served by the rail network with two railway stations in the Borough - the main Bournemouth station and Pokesdown to the East.

Crosscountry trains provide an excellent train service to and from various locations around the UK. Many train operaters provide a comprehensive service to London Waterloo with a journey time of as little as 97 minutes. Many lines also serve Southampton, Winchester and Basingstoke to the East, with Poole, Wareham, Dorchester and Weymouth to the West.

Other train lines serve destinations to the North with direct trains to Reading, Oxford, Birmingham & the Midlands, Manchester and the Northwest, Yorkshire (Sheffield, Leeds, York), Newcastle, Edinburgh and Glasgow in Scotland.

Bournemouth is accessible from all parts of the UK by train - check your local station for the best route to take.

There are no particular health requirements for a dance holiday. However, you should be able to dance for at least 2 hours a day in order to be able to enjoy the classes.

Bournemouth enjoys a mild British climate and May usually sees a good deal of early summer sunshine.

Although you can dance barefoot, we recommend that you bring comfortable gym shoes or trainers/jazz shoes for the dance classes and something more formal for the evenings. Your shoes should be comfortable and supportive. Wear lightweight cotton socks to avoid sweaty and blistered feet during the dance sessions, with loose and comfortable clothing for the classes. Feel free to glam it up Indian style in the evenings and be part of the Bollywood theme!
